KATHERINE SCHULTE, ESQ.

Associate Attorney

Attorney Katherine Schulte joined Jessica Katz Law in the fall of 2022, bringing over a decade of litigation, training, and consulting experience to the firm. Having spent her career in the non-profit sector and higher education, Attorney Schulte is distinguished by her commitment to client-centered, trauma-informed, and assertive advocacy for a diverse client base.

Attorney Schulte began her career as a Supervising Attorney and Fellow at the Domestic Violence Institute at Northeastern University School of Law, where she also attended law school. In this role she honed her ability to respond to crises with skill and patience, both in representing clients in high-risk situations and in guiding law students through the development of core lawyering skills.

Prior to joining Jessica Katz Law, Attorney Schulte managed the Legal Advocacy Program at Casa Myrna Vazquez, where she oversaw the efforts of a team of lawyers, advocates, and law students. She sharpened her litigation skills through countless hours spent in the busy District and Probate and Family courts of Greater Boston. As a bicultural, Spanish-speaking attorney, she has broad experience working with immigrant families and helping them navigate complex systems. Attorney Schulte understands how different legal and non-legal problems intersect, and she is committed to ensuring that clients feel informed and supported throughout any legal process.

In addition to providing direct legal services, Attorney Schulte has extensive experience training and consulting with individuals and institutions. She has trained and mentored lawyers and non-lawyers in both the private and non-profit sectors on a range of legal issues and skills, with a focus on domestic violence and trauma. Leveraging her own experience securing funding to triple the size of Casa Myrna’s legal program, she helped other non-profits apply for and manage grants, launch new legal programs, and navigate the challenges of providing interdisciplinary services.

Attorney Schulte is active in the legal community, holding leadership roles within the Boston Bar Association and Women’s Bar Foundation. She has been recognized as an “Up & Coming Lawyer” at the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Excellence in the Law Event.  Attorney Schulte is a graduate of Boston College and holds both a JD and LLM in Clinical Legal Education from Northeastern University School of Law.
